While our doctor covers the local hospital and the regional Trauma Center, in Neptune, our office schedule is rarely disrupted.

First Visit

Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Your health history will be reviewed and a treatment plan formulated. Surgery, if necessary, will be coordinated and scheduled accordingly. Occasionally, a second consultation may be needed prior to surgery, for cases requiring more advanced planning, and coordination of care.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Your referral letter, diagnostic and imaging tests (i.e. X-rays)
  • Completed health history form including additional information or documentation
  • A list of medications you are presently taking.
  • Documentation of all health care benefits (medical and dental)

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.

A preoperative consultation and physical examination are required for patients undergoing IV anesthesia for surgery. Please have nothing to eat or drink six hours prior to your surgery. You will also need an adult to escort you home.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, osteoporosis medications etc.) or supplemental vitamins or herbal preparations.

X-Rays

If you have imaging studies from another office or facility, you may request to have them forwarded to our office. It will be helpful for x-rays to be forwarded electronically via e-mail or on a digital storage medium. Please contact us if you need assistance to facilitate the electronic transfer of radiographs. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.

CT Scans

Our practice utilizes cone-beam CT (computed tomography) technology that provides accurate 3-D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning, and treatment of surgery. This technology provides images for the diagnosis, planning, and treatment of orthognathic and implant surgery, temporomandibular joint analysis, airway assessment in sleep apnea, facial trauma, and reconstruction procedures. Undistorted, anatomically correct views of the jaws, teeth, and facial bones, along with cross-sectional axial, coronal, sagittal, and cephalometric views are easily generated. Three-dimensional images enable a level of anatomical accuracy and patient care not possible with conventional x-ray technologies.

Please bring all medical, dental, and other insurance information with you to the consultation so that we can expedite your care.
